UMTC has partnered with SEATAG Australasian Services to deliver Offshore specific Training.

The training will be delivered by UMTC and the certification will be managed by SEATAG Australasian Services, under Libero Assurance accreditation covering BSI & API standards. UMTC has invested in very sophisticated Offshore Crane simulation that meets the need of industry to conduct training & assessment.

We believe this is a first in the Philippines and we are very pleased to open this type of training to Filipino’s who wish to explore employment in the Offshore Industry as well as Owners and Rig Managers who require training and assessment without having to send them overseas.

Outline

AIM
The aim of this assessment is to ensure that the candidate's competency has been maintained against predefined criteria and standards which involves static and dynamic crane lifting opertions including bulk hose operation and personnel transfer without direct supervision.

SCOPE

This assessment covers the theoretical and practical components of the UK HSE Code Of Safe Working Practices in Lifting Operations and British Standard 7121 Part 11 Offshore Cranes.

INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES
After the assessment , the candidate should be able to :
• Conduct Pre-start inspection
• Carry out pre start checks
• Carry out functional checks of safety devices
• Assess the requirements and condition of the work area
• Establish a communication system
• Plan a static & dynamic crane operation
• Operate Pedestal Crane (Lattice and knuckle boom) transferring load from installation to supply vessel
• Conduct personnel transfer
• Conduct bunkering operations
• Deal correctly with malfunctions and emergencies
• Shut down the crane using standard and emergency procedures

COURSE PREREQUISITE
Candidate must previously have been assessed to Stage 3 standard as per BS7121 Part 11 or equivalent at the offshore workplace.

Hold valid Stage 3 certification. If Stage 3 certificate is not in date, i.e. more than 2 years old, candidate must produce one of the following:

1. Recent evidence of completed supply vessel logbook on supply vessel cargo handling operations or sub-sea lifting operations, endorsed by supervisor, with contact details that can be verified by the nominated deputy (no older than two years).

2. A witness testimony from their current/recent employer, with appropriate contact details, that can be followed up and verified by nominated deputy, indicating regular exposure to supply vessel cargo handling operations or sub-sea operations as appropriate.

VALIDITY OF CERTIFICATE
2 years
(to be re-assessed on or before expiry date for issuance of an in-date Stage 3 certificate)

OUR HISTORY

We are the product of more than two decades of Marlow Navigations’ pursuit of excellence and innovation in the maritime sector.

Established and named Marlow Navigation Training Center (MNTC) in 1998 in a single lecture room doubling as the office and another room for culinary training. In 2004, we expanded our operations to fulfill the growing need for well-trained seafarers further. This led to the setting up of three more classrooms for the cadet training program, a computer laboratory, and a culinary center. We finally moved to our present site in the heart of Manila in 2008, providing training for up to 40,000 seafarers annually.  ...
