One of the Workday’s founder and CEO Dave Duffield also founded the ERP giant PeopleSoft and acted as its CEO until it was taken over by Oracle in the most hostile takeover in IT industry.

Aneel Bhusri who acted as the chief strategist of PeopleSoft before the takeover in 2005 is the co-founder of Workday.
Workday targets the customers of its rivals by offering them with the similar services with an added advantage of of being a cloud based application and at a price which is very less as compare to its rivals.

Business Model:
Workday collects most of its revenue by selling its services rather than selling its software. Expenses are decided when the new contract is signed between Workday and the organization for the given time period.
