Adobe After Effects

This comprehensive course about After Effects is comprised of an in-depth explanation of every fundamental concept focused on giving the best of its class for beginners and intermediate level students.  This course is more than nine hours long with 47 lectures.

Section 1: Introduction to After Effects

In this first section of the After Effects course, we will start with the introduction of the software and take it through Interface details, layer editors, followed by the effects , transformation, and animation of the objects.

At first, we will discuss the Workspaces, panel and viewers of the software, where we dive deep into the application window, grouped panels and Individual panel. You will learn how to manage the windows on the workspace additional to that you will learn how to create and save customized workspaces or reset and delete them as per your convenience. Later we give you an overview of the layers and its properties. You will learn how to make a composition using the layers. Finally, at the end of the first section, we will teach the adding the basic animation techniques to the objects.

Section 2: Starting a new composition

In After Effects, we work on the projects, where one project can store compositions and references as a library of the source files that will be added to the footage file used in the project. We will take you through the composition which is a collection of layers and add more data to the composition. During this lecture we will import the scene, do the color correction on the existing footage, work on the blending modes; most importantly we focus on the hard light blending mode and continue to explore the blend mode to gain perfect color corrected footage we intended to have. The section is concluded after the final lecture about the background color which you will use as the background of the composition.

Section 3: Character Masking

At this point of the tutorial, we will deal with one of the important topics of Adobe After Effects which is the Masking feature. We will start the section by introducing you to the Masking features and get into the practical application of Masking on various elements. First, we start with Masking Characters which is most common practice while adding animation to text and creating motion graphics. The subject is explained in depth as it continues further in three lectures entirely.

Next, we will start applying the Mask on images. We work on an exercise file to Mask a Van and get along with a couple of lectures on the same subject. Finally, you will know the techniques of rendering the Masking objects in the rendering lecture. You will also learn how to carry on with the  Tracking and Tracking blur features in Adobe After Effects.

Section 4: Text Animation

Here, we start the section with the Chroma Keylight which is used after removing the green matte and blue matte screens to key and adjust the light and control the white edges and patches on the borders of the elements. After finishing the chroma subject, we will step into text animation and explore various methods and possibilities to add animation to the text with a multitude of effects.

Some of the important points we cover in this section are Animating the text, Positioning the text correctly while applying animation, Adding blur effect to the motion while the text is animated.

Section 5: Working with Images

Working with images is the fundamental lecture you will learn at this point of the course. Before diving deep into this discussion, we start exploring the camera information. The lecture comprises of various cameras and how you can control the camera in Adobe After Effects in the two dimension space and the three dimension space. We discuss various views and previews of the program.

The next step is to import images and start working them. You will learn how to work with the images, import them, zoom, pan and preview the images in various viewpoints and perspectives. We discuss briefly the image resolutions and color properties and channels you should use in various mediums.

Section 6: Camera view and animate

In this section of Adobe After Effects course, we will discuss in depth about the Camera view and Camera animation properties. You will come to learn about the camera layer and work on a variety of camera settings and properties to change the viewpoints. As you follow this section, it will get easier to you to work with the Camera and take it in and around a scene to move, rotate and animate it. You will learn to animate a camera manually and by modify the through settings. Another important point in Camera Animation is to track or follow the footage camera with the virtual camera while compositing. We discuss the Depth of the Field and use the variables to change the depth of the field for achieving précised and ultra realistic look as camera focusing effects.

Section 7: Black strip animate

The course lectures will focus more on practical education from this point of the tutorials. Here, we will introduce you to the first exercise about creating a Motion Graphics where the elements are eclipsed and later appears from a black strip. We will bring various techniques and features which we learned so far in the above six sections into the practical application during this project. You will see how to apply masking and animation to objects, create motion graphics, render the file in this lecture.

Section 8 & 9: Splash animation & Puppet Animation / Apps animation

This section deals with few more exercise files bringing in more industry level education on a practical approach.
