A standardized test, The ACT® measures English, Mathematics, Science, and Reading. The ACT Plus Writing includes the four subject area test plus a 30-minute Writing Test. The test intends to aid Undergrad Schools to assess the potential of applicants for advanced study. Universities in the US, while inviting the applications from prospective students, ask for SAT® I or the ACT® scores.
The examination is entirely a paper-based Test. The test is scored on a maximum of 36. The ACT® scores alone cannot guarantee admissions into a school – the test is only one of the major factors taken into consideration in the long process of an applicant getting admitted into a graduate school that he/she desires.

The ACT (No Writing) consists of four multiple-choice tests: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. The ACT Plus Writing includes the four multiple-choice tests and a Writing Test.
