What is this workshop about?

In this workshop, you will make an automated railway crossing model to understand real application of embedded systems. Here's how it works:

  • Sensors detect train arrival and departure and send appropriate signals to microcontroller
  • Microcontroller is programmed to operate motorized railway gates as per sensor input
This project solves a real problem - accident risks at unattended railway crossing. So the learning experience from this workshop will improve your problem-solving skills in engineering.

Course Highlights
  • Design and Build your own Automated Railway Crossing Project
  • Exposure to Embedded Systems
  • Understand the structure and programming of microcontrollers
  • Practical experience with DC motors, ICs and sensors
Hardware Kit
  • Skyfi Labs Development Board
  • Digital IR Sensors
  • Battery
  • Gears
  • Working Tools*
  • USB-ASP Programmable Cable
  • DC Motors
  • Motor Clamps
  • Connecting Wires

All the above components would be provided during the program to participants in groups of 5 but would be taken back at the end.

Participants registering in groups of 5 will get take-home kit for free. Take-home kit consists of all the above items excluding the items marked with *.

At Skyfi Labs, we aim to improve the skills of an engineer and thereby increasing their chance of employability by providing project-based training in their respective field of expertise. For this, we have developed numerous online projects and training programs which emphasize more on the learning part rather than just the project.
Through our Innovative learning methodology of Learn-Do-Review and hardware kits being shipped to doorstep, learning and building projects through our online project-based courses would never be hard.
