WHAT IS TESOL/TEFL?
‘TESOL’ is the acronym for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages or simply, English language instruction for non-native speakers. ‘TEFL’ is Teaching English as a Foreign Language. These terms are interchangeable in the English teaching market worldwide.
WHY SHOULD I TAKE THE COURSE?
The CERT.TESOL is accepted all over the world as a qualification for jobs involving teaching English. It is the industry standard that will enhance your career prospects as an English teacher. It is the right qualification to teach English in Non-English Speaking regions such as Western Europe, Central / Eastern Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East / North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Moreover, having a TESOL/TEFL Certification gives you an advantage in the English teaching market in India.
This is a 5 week intensive course. The course at Cochin International Language Academy (CILA), Located in Kerala, India is taught by native speaker trainers from the UK and Canada who will teach you the latest methods of English Language teaching, using up-to-date technology and the best international teaching materials. You will be studying in centre in Kerala, India with trainees from different countries such as the UK, the USA, Australia and New Zealand, so will have the opportunity to interact with them throughout the course.
This course is accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in the UK and you receive credits which can be used if you take other UK qualifications.
The Trinity Cert.TESOL is independently moderated by Trinity representatives. This means that the quality of the training you’ll receive meets the highest of standards. As a result, over the years, the Trinity stamp of approval has come to be trusted by TEFL employers everywhere. Trinity College awards a certificate to all successful candidates on completion of the accredited TEFL Certificate course
At the end of the course, if you are successful, you will be given assistance in finding jobs in India and overseas. Indian English teachers usually get jobs in countries such as Brunei, Chile, the Maldives, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Malaysia.
Unlike many other places that offer Cert.TESOL, if you are an international trainee (ie. Not a resident of India), we have a limited number of places to gain a Certificate in Teaching Experience which is supervised and with a stipend for 1 year. You will leave with 1 year of teaching experience increasing your job opportunities. This is the only way you can legally work as an English teacher in India, because teaching jobs in India are reserved for Indians.
